What to Expect
SPICE at SALTVAULT of Del Mar is a high-energy, heated-mat Pilates class designed for guests looking to push their strength, endurance, and core engagement further. This class takes place in a hotter studio environment and focuses on more challenging sequences that build heat from the inside out.
Each 50-minute class moves with purpose and intensity, combining controlled Pilates movements with a faster pace and added resistance. SPICE is best suited for guests who already feel comfortable in heated classes and want a more substantial physical challenge.
Infrared
SPICE uses infrared heating technology to maintain a consistent studio temperature throughout class. The heat typically ranges between 95 and 105 degrees, creating an environment that encourages deep sweating and sustained muscle engagement.
Infrared heat warms the body directly, helping muscles stay pliable and responsive during more extended sequences. This allows guests to maintain effort through demanding movements while supporting circulation and flexibility.
Hot Pilates
SPICE builds on the fundamentals of mat Pilates while increasing intensity. Movements focus heavily on core strength, lower-body engagement, and upper-body endurance. Sequences often involve longer holds, slower tempo, and deeper muscle activation.
Guests can expect challenging abdominal work paired with full-body conditioning. The added heat and advanced sequencing make SPICE a step up from standard Hot Pilates, offering a stronger burn and increased physical demand.
Musically-driven
Music in SPICE classes is selected to match the intensity of the workout. Strong beats and steady rhythm help guide pacing and maintain momentum throughout class.
The music supports focus and drive, helping guests stay engaged during longer holds and more demanding transitions. This rhythm-driven structure allows instructors to guide flow without breaking concentration.
ABOUT OUR SPICE CLASS
Serving the Greater San Diego County Including Del Mar, Poway, Fairbanks Ranch, Ramona & Beyond
SPICE at SALTVAULT of Del Mar is designed for guests who want to challenge themselves physically while still benefiting from Pilates-based control and alignment. This class blends strength, endurance, and heat into a focused workout experience.
A variety of props may be incorporated, including weights, resistance bands, Pilates balls, and the magic circle. These tools increase resistance and help target specific muscle groups more intensely.
The Process
Class begins with a warm-up that prepares the body for increased heat and effort. From there, sequences progress into sustained core work, lower-body strengthening, and upper-body conditioning. Movements are layered to keep muscles engaged for more extended periods.
The class concludes with controlled cool-down movements and stretching to support recovery. The structured flow helps guests finish class feeling accomplished and energized.
Improve Relaxation & Circulation
Although SPICE is a more intense class, the infrared heat still supports circulation and muscle relaxation. Increased blood flow helps muscles recover while maintaining flexibility after demanding work.
Mindful breathing throughout class helps guests stay grounded and manage intensity, supporting both physical effort and mental focus.
