What to Expect
Pilates For Beginners at SALTVAULT of Little Italy is a welcoming, low-impact mat class introducing the fundamentals of Pilates in a supportive setting. Each 50-minute session takes place in an infrared-heated studio maintained at 95-105 degrees, helping muscles warm up gently while easing new clients into a full-body workout.
No prior Pilates experience is needed. Instructors walk through foundational movements step by step, explaining alignment and breathing cues clearly along the way. The pace is approachable, giving first-time clients room to learn without feeling rushed or overwhelmed.
Infrared
Infrared panels warm the body directly rather than heating the surrounding air. For beginners, this provides a gentle introduction to heated fitness, helping muscles loosen and stay comfortable without the heavy, overwhelming feel of a traditional hot studio.
Foundational Pilates
Class introduces the core principles of Pilates: breath, alignment, and controlled movement. Exercises are clearly broken down, with instructors offering hands-on cues and simple modifications so beginners can build a strong foundation before progressing to more advanced sequences.
Musically-driven
A steady, welcoming playlist supports the pace of every beginner class. Music helps set a comfortable rhythm, making transitions between exercises feel natural rather than rushed, and keeping the room feeling relaxed and encouraging.

The Process
Each class opens with a simple warm-up introducing the body to movement in the heated studio. Class concludes with gentle stretching and a guided cool-down.
Improve Endurance and Conditioning
Starting with the fundamentals helps new clients build core strength, body awareness, and confidence in movement. The infrared heat adds circulation and relaxation benefits from the very first class. Many beginners find the structured pacing makes it easy to progress steadily into more advanced Pilates classes over time.
