QUESTIONS?
What to Expect
SPICE at SALTVAULT of Pacific Beach is a higher-intensity, mat-based Pilates class held in a heated studio, typically between 95–105°. This class is designed for guests who want a stronger burn, deeper core engagement, and a more challenging Pilates experience.
Expect focused, continuous movement that targets the abdominals, hips, glutes, and stabilizing muscles. The pace is steady but demanding, with less rest between sequences. SPICE builds strength, endurance, and control while remaining low-impact and joint-friendly.
Infrared
SPICE uses infrared heat to support muscle activation and sustained effort. The heat warms the body efficiently, helping muscles stay responsive during longer, more demanding sequences.
Infrared heat also supports circulation and flexibility, allowing participants to maintain intensity while moving with control. The consistent warmth helps reduce stiffness and supports smoother transitions throughout class.
Hot Pilates
SPICE is a heated Pilates class rooted in traditional mat Pilates principles and elevated through intensity. The class emphasizes deep core engagement, strength under fatigue, and controlled repetition.
Movements are low-impact but intentionally challenging. The heat increases muscular demand without requiring jumping or high-impact transitions, making SPICE effective while remaining supportive of joint health.
Musically-driven
SPICE at SALTVAULT is musically driven, with playlists selected to support intensity, rhythm, and focus. Music helps guide pacing and maintain momentum through demanding sequences.
The music’s tempo aligns with movement patterns, helping participants stay engaged and consistent as the class builds heat and intensity.
ABOUT OUR SPICE CLASS
Serving the Greater San Diego County Including Pacific Beach, Mission Beach, La Jolla, La Mesa & Beyond
SPICE is designed for guests with some Pilates or fitness experience who are seeking a more challenging experience. This class focuses heavily on the core while also strengthening the legs, glutes, arms, and stabilizing muscles.
Props such as light weights, resistance bands, exercise balls, and magic circles may be used to increase resistance and variation. SPICE offers a structured, high-effort experience within a controlled Pilates framework.
The Process
Each SPICE class begins with a warm-up to prepare the body for higher-intensity movement in the heated studio. Participants then move through a series of intermediate-to-advanced mat Pilates sequences that emphasize core strength, endurance, and stability.
Instructors provide clear cues and modifications as needed while maintaining a consistent pace. The class concludes with focused movements and stretching to support balance, mobility, and recovery.
Improve Relaxation & Circulation
Although SPICE is intensity-driven, the combination of infrared heat and controlled movement supports circulation and post-class recovery. Many participants experience improved mobility and reduced muscle tension following class.
The steady warmth helps muscles remain engaged without tightening, supporting both performance and relaxation.
"I took the SAVOR class through ClassPass with Jamie and I really enjoyed how challenging it was. I sweat out everything, worked my muscles to exhaustion, and left feeling lighter and more limber."
