What to Expect

SALTVAULT of Encinitas does not run a dedicated prenatal Pilates program, and instructors are not certified prenatal specialists. What we do offer is ZEST, our non-heated mat Pilates class, which some pregnant guests choose specifically because it removes infrared heat from the room. Every guest considering class during pregnancy should speak with her doctor first and check in with our instructors before attending.

SPICE and SAVOR, our two heated formats, run between 95–105° and are not classes we recommend during pregnancy. ZEST removes heat entirely and focuses on mat work, spinal mobility, and foundational Pilates principles.

ABOUT OUR PRENATAL PILATES Training

Serving the Greater San Diego County Including Encinitas, Carlsbad, Oceanside, Cardiff & Beyond

SALTVAULT of Encinitas wants every guest to make an informed decision about class during pregnancy. We do not offer a certified prenatal program, and instructors lack specialized prenatal training. ZEST is simply our non-heated class, chosen most often by guests whose doctors have cleared them to continue Pilates.

Before attending, we ask pregnant guests to confirm with their doctor whether mat Pilates is appropriate for their individual pregnancy, and to tell our staff which trimester they are in. Every pregnancy is different, and modifications that work for one guest may not work for another.

The Process

Guests attending ZEST while pregnant should arrive early to speak with the instructor before class, sharing any restrictions or guidance from their doctor. From there, class follows the same structure as any ZEST session: a gentle warm-up followed by mat-based sequences focused on posture, core awareness, and controlled movement.

Instructors can offer general modifications on request, such as avoiding certain positions. Still, guests should come prepared with specific guidance from their own provider, as our team is not trained to prescribe prenatal modifications independently.

Improve Relaxation & Circulation

Many guests find controlled, unheated movement supports relaxation and eases physical tension. Because ZEST is not heated, it allows guests to focus on breath and steady pacing without added thermal stress on the body.

Any wellness benefits experienced will vary by individual, and class should be treated as a supplement, not a substitute, for guidance from a physician throughout pregnancy.

"Salt Vault’s Savour class with Fallon is genuinely amazing. She is such a great instructor and creates an environment where you feel supported, motivated, and energized. Every time I leave her class I feel ready to take on anything."
